Location: Los Angeles County, CA (This is a 100% onsite position) 

Position Type: Full-Time, Salary

Compensation:  $90,000 - $110,000 

Title: Safety Manager 

 

 

Job Purpose 

American Golf Corporation is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Safety Manager to join our HR team. The Safety Manager will oversee all aspects of workplace safety, OSHA compliance, and safety programs across our golf courses and country clubs in California. Reporting to operations and human resources leadership, this role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety initiatives to ensure a secure and compliant work environment for employees, guests, members, and third parties. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations, including OSHA standards. 
  • Administer and oversee the annual self-audit program, identifying and addressing potential risks. 
  • Conduct on-site inspections to assess working conditions, safe work practices, and compliance adherence. 
  • Identify and evaluate workplace hazards, providing recommendations and corrective actions. 
  • Investigate workplace incidents, conduct root cause analyses, and implement preventive measures. 
  • Develop and maintain site-specific safety documentation, including policies, forms, and training materials. 
  • Design and facilitate safety training programs for employees at all levels. 
  • Lead safety meetings and communicate key updates to course leadership. 
  • Collaborate with operations teams to foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement. 
  • Perform additional duties as required. 

Additional Information

Qualifications 

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred. 
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in workplace safety, risk management, or other related fields. 
  • Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Occupational Health & Safety, or Business Management or a related field preferred.  
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, workplace safety programs, and risk assessment methodologies. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse teams. 
  • Strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. 

 

Working Conditions 

  • This position requires commuting to varied onsite locations primarily within the Greater Los Angeles Area. 
  • This position will also require travel which includes locations across California, as well as potential travel to other properties in Florida, New York, New Mexico, Texas, and other emerging markets. 
  • Requires prolonged periods of standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds. 
  • Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, chemicals, airborne particles, and potential electrical hazards.
